My First Audition Experience (Pinoy Big Brother Season 4)

July 30, I woke up at around 5:15am. Bob and I agreed to meet in Robinson's Novaliches at exactly 5:30am. Friday that week, we had multiple exchanges of texts as to what we'll wear, our meeting spot and other stuff. After my shower, I hurriedly went to the PBB auditions.

6:30am - I saw the long queue, one near the mall entrance and another one in the parking area. I arrived in the meeting spot. I don't know what else to do and Bob was not there yet,  so I sat in one of the benches near a plant, trying to obscure my presence from anyone who might know me. After observing, I got intimidated by the crowd, almost wanting to go home.

6:40am - I approached the marshals wearing yellow shirts distributing the application form and stickers. My sticker number is 28090.
6:45am - Someone approached and asked if we could exchange our queue numbers. Hers was a lower number, 27982, so I agreed right away. I felt she was an angel and that I was extra lucky that day. Albeit I forgot my umbrella (the weather was rainy that day) the sudden exchange of queue numbers gave me the opportunity to be part of a much earlier group. This big group is under a tent! What else can you ask for. I'm truly blessed.
7:00am - Bob called me and saw him walking towards the end of the line. Poor guy, I think his number is 28300+ something.

7:15am - I called Bob and asked him if we could eat in the nearby convenient store. I didn't have breakfast and the only thing I filled my tummy was a glass of water.

7:30am - Bob and I chatted about our dreams in life.

7:40am - Bob and I still chatted about our dreams in life, and I completed my application form with the 5 highlights of my life.
8:00am - We went back our queue and the crowd is getting bigger and bigger. There are a lot of cute guys and I can't help but tweet about it.

8:30am - Marshals fixed the queue. Everyone needs to be contained under the tent. I met Redd, a very nice lesbo and she was just next to me, number 27983. I didn't talked to 27981. But had a small chit-chat with 27980.

10:00am - Still on queue. Bob went inside the mall to eat. I tweeted where I was and I got a very supportive friends in Twitter. You guys rock!
10:30am - Lauren Dyogi (Kuya) spoke to the crowd.

11:00am - Bob went back his queue. We had funny exchange of texts talking about craziness of the crowd and the cute guys all-over.

12:00noon - Bob backed-out. He's a chicken. Just kidding.

2:00pm - My batched transferred near the mall entrance! Everytime the queue moves, I get nervous and excited.

2:36pm- Interacted with some of the hopefuls like me and found out that Redd is from Bacoor, 27984 is from Isabela, had a small chat with a cute guy from Sampaloc and a funny girl from Makati. Then I told them that I'm just 5 minutes away from Robinson's Novaliches. They were just amazed.

2:45pm - The moment I've been waiting for. We entered the mall! This was nerve-wracking. Believe me.

2:46pm - I was instructed by someone to collect the application form from my batch (around 30) and advised that we should enter the camera room right after her cue. I'm like the designated lead in that batch. What the heck.

2:48pm - We entered the camera room, we lined-up and we're asked to talk in front of the camera. We need to state our name, our age and our current job. Yours truly was the first one to introduce.

2:55pm - We went outside, lined up and waited for the results.

2:56pm- Results came and the person to move forward the interview portion is 28053! Out of 30, only one got the chance to be interviewed! I went outside the mall, trying to think seriously as to what the criteria was. One thing's for sure, of all the people that got selected in the second phase, the common denominator was that all of them are pretty, handsome and cute. Yours truly decided not to dwell on this too much. Promise. I know where I stand.

I obviously didn't make it the second round, but believe me, the experience was really priceless. Well for one, I've learned that I can endure waiting.  It was 7 freaking hours. I didn't know I can stand that long.

I was never born a quitter although there were moments when I thought of going home already or just go to the opposite mall, SM Fairview to have coffee with Bob. In fairness to Bob, he's sick so I can give it to him for not completing the audition process.

I also realized that I can do whatever to fulfill my dreams. This is a biggie for me.

I thought it's embarrassing if people I know will see me trying out for PBB, but then I thought, it's more embarrassing to dream and do NOT do something about it. If I will just think of what people will say to me, then I'm not going to move on, and it's not going to be mature.

Second, as a first-timer to experience auditions - what happened to me is a blessing. I met people, observed them and realized that there are more people who are dreaming bigger than me.

Which leads me to my last realization; you got to dream bigger and strive for it!

While in line, I was thinking of my future and what will happen next after this. I have big dreams and I'm happy that this experience taught me a lot of lessons.

Sincerely, I know God gave me skills and talents  that I can use to move forward to a more extravagant future.  And we all know that that the secret to success is working hard , working smart and planning your future with God.

Am I going to try again next time?

Why not. God gives second chances! That I know of too well.

*wink
